The property is located in the countryside of Siena near the famous villages of Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and others, only 15 minutes drive to Siena town, 1 hour to Florence, 1 hour to the beach of Follonica, Grosseto or Castiglion della Pescaia and 2h 30 min to Rome. It enjoys wonderful views of the countryside and the Valley towards Montalcino and Mount Amiata. The nearest village Casciano di Murlo is at 2.5 km and offers all kind of services: there are 2 restaurants, pizzeria, bakery, butcher, supermarket, post office, bank, local transport ( daily bus to Siena ) and other few services. The towns Buonconvento ( 20 minutes driving ) or Monteroni d'Arbia ( 15 minutes driving ) offer larger supermarkets, train station and all kind of services. Important films like the Oscar winners The English Patient, La Vita è Bella and The Gladiator were shot here just few minutes from our farmhouse, as well as Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and most recently Under the Tuscan Sun, cementing the Val D’Orcia’s beauty in cinematic history. Well worth visiting: the villages of Pienza, Castelmuzio, Castiglione D’Orcia, Montepulciano, Monte Oliveto, Monticchiello, Petriolo, Radicofani, San Quirico and Bagno Vignoni. The Church of St Anna, the Church of St Antimo and the Church of Spedaletto are all beautiful. There are many routes to be followed on foot or on bike.
