During the Second World War the farmhouse was occupied by the German troupes and important communication duties were conducted in the privacy of this land. Since then a legend says that a treasure is hidden somewhere in this property. Following the war, the property lease reverted back to Council and in 2003 after a public auction we purchased the remains of Poggio alle Monache and so started our adventure.
Poggio alle Monache is now a completely restored typical stone Tuscan farmhouse, a unique retreat which blends the superb views and unspoilt landscape of Tuscany with all the creature comforts while being in the perfect position to explore the countryside and cities of art that the region of Tuscany is famous for. The Interiors have been expertly restored and provide an irresistible combination of contemporary comfort ( including Air conditioning in all bedrooms and living rooms, LCD TV, satellite, Wireless internet connection, DVD and CD players ) and traditional character ( hand-carved marble sinks, wooden beams, rustic marble floor tiles )
The beautiful pool( 16x8 mt - deep 1.40 mt ) includes heated hydromassage area. The pool is located in secluded position, 50 mt away from the apartments, to guarantee privacy and quiet while being either in the apartments or by the pool. |
